My Retro Kitchen Etsy Favourites!

Have you seen Etsy's new way to organise Favourites?
Whereas before, when we hit that little red heart to Favourite items we loved, they were all jumbled in together, now we can create our own themed Favourites Lists. There's still the opportunity to simply scroll pages of diverse loveliness, but I love now being able to restrict my Favourites browsing to, say, my preselected Rainbows or Notebooks or Great T-Shirts or Vegan Greetings Cards when I know I am ready to buy.

Etsy recently got in touch and challenged me to create a post highlighting my own Favourites Lists. I considered showcasing items from each of my lists, but then got a bit carried away on my Vintage Kitchen list. I do adore retro and retro-styled kitchen utensils!
I bought my newly made Potholder, my Bel Burger Press and my Knife Sharpener, both 1970s vintage, and my 1960s Mouli food mill, all from Etsy sellers. I love that these items were built to last. They're still going strong and Etsy sellers enabled them to get a second (or third or fourth) lease of life.

These are what I have my eye on next to complement my retro cooking - so long as no one else snaps them up before me!

The story interweaves the present with scenes from Hannah’s past and her fantasy of “happily ever after” with her high school boyfriend in a humorous and entertaining manner. Her feelings from being “shunned” by the cool kids resurface as she reflects back on her time as a teenager. There are several roadblocks on Hannah’s journey from a teenager through her present. Book Details:

Book Title: It Happened in Tuscany by Gail Mencini
Category Adult Fiction (18+), 408 pages
Genre Mainstream Fiction, Historical Fiction
Publisher Capriole Group
Release date Feb 18 2020
Content Rating: PG-13. The novel includes violence in war scenes and non-explicit sex scenes, but not f-words, religious profanities, or crude terms as described.

Book Description:

From the multiple-award-winning author of To Tuscany with Love comes a captivating story of the epic tug of war between honor and duty, the irrepressible power of love, and the concept of family.

In 1945, Will Mills and his fellow soldiers in the 10th Mountain Division scaled Italy’s treacherous Riva Ridge in the frigid night to break through the nearly impenetrable German line of defense. Severely wounded, Will was rescued by Italian partisans and one, a beautiful girl, tended his injuries until he had the strength to rejoin the U.S. troops.

Tormented and haunted by his decisions and actions during wartime, Will knows he has unfinished missions in Italy to complete. The passage of time and years of carrying this unfulfilled need have molded Will into a bitter, angry man.

Seventy-five years later, Will’s spunky thirty-two-year-old neighbor, Sophie Sparke, faces disaster in her life. Everything is going wrong—her job, her love life, even her dog. Part of the problem is that confident and fiercely independent Sophie lets her quick mouth get her into trouble.

Grouchy, mean-spirited Will finagles Sophie into traveling with him to Tuscany to find the partisan who saved his life. Will also secretly hopes to confront the demons his wartime actions created. Sophie and Will comb enchanting Tuscan hill towns on an improbable and unfolding mission with few clues to aid them. Will’s passionate tenacity drives their quest and in the process exposes their darkest secrets. The journey alters the course of their lives, and Will and Sophie find more than they had imagined in the hills of Tuscany.

March Frugal Living Project: tips, offers, recipes + a #Giveaway

I've got a Frugal Living project on my Ko-Fi which I'm going to try and keep going throughout the 31 days of March - and hopefully beyond if it's popular. I'm calling it #FrugalVegan, but lots of my discoveries and suggestions will be just as useful to non-vegans too.

Every day I will share at least one economical tip, special offer, or frugal recipe on my Ko-Fi page at http://ko-fi.com/stephaniejane
Follow me there to join in my journey of discovery and to share your own suggestions too.

So far my posts include a delicious Chaiwallah Margate tea special offer, and an earlybird discount for Bernard Jan's new YA skateboarding novel, Cruel Summer. I've also made my own clove oil for toothpaste and mouthwash, and linked up to a cheap-yet-tasty Scottish Stovies potato stew recipe - perfect warming comfort food for the current cold snap. That's quite a variety in just 3 days!

As they're eternally popular, I thought I would celebrate my #FrugalVegan project with a Giveaway! I love giveaways and you can't get much more frugal than free!

To enter, simply Follow my Ko-Fi and answer the obscure music knowledge question about my new Seitan Jackfruit greetings card.
Make sure you Comment Your Answer on This Ko-Fi Post (the question is there too).

The giveaway is open internationally (as long as RedBubble ships to your country) and all entries must be in by midnight (UK time) on the 31st March. I'll randomly pick a winner from all the correct Comments on the 1st April.

Good luck! And do let me know your #FrugalVegan tips and tricks too. I'm keen to share - and try - the good'uns!
