A Month In Books - February 2020

Welcome to February's Month In Books roundup!

This month rushed by so fast that I ended up with 5 books overdue on my State of the ARC and I didn't feel as though I actually got much reading done. I still managed to clock up 15 books though! Plus I ventured into some unusual-for-me genres.

Regular blog series:
In February I blogged my usual Reading Challenge update albeit without Bookish Bingo from which I am taking a break. I also blogged State of the ARC updates as well as a Cover Characteristics collection featuring Aeroplanes - an unexpectedly versatile theme. My 5 Books, 1 Theme quintet were all books featuring Frankenstein and WorldReads visited Chile. I also continued my favourite Bookish Etsy Finds and posted a Giveaway Roundup.

Now, on with this Reading Roundup!

My Book Of The Month for February is the amazing historical fiction novel The Shadow King by Maaza Mengista. It's about women soldiers in the 1930s Ethiopia-Italy war (a war I previously knew nothing about) and is everything I love about the historical fiction genre - informative, immersive and utterly compelling.

I hope you have found some books to tempt you in this selection! You can keep up with my daily book posts on Literary Flits and don't forget all the Giveaways are listed in my Giveaway Linkup.

State Of The ARC - February 2020

I saw this State of the ARC meme over at Avalinah's Books blog in January 2018 and thought it would be fun to join in. It's temporarily being hosted at All The Book Blog Names Are Taken.

The idea is to keep track of all the ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) books I've got awaiting reading and reviewing, and to make headway through the overdue pile. For my State of the ARC, I am including all books sent to me for review whether they are pre-publication copies (as ARCs should be) or simply review copies of books already available publicly. I don't include books that I have purchased myself, book exchange swaps, or free downloads.

In February I blogged my reviews of these ARCs:

Here's my State of the ARC numbers as of today:

Awaiting Reading

Read / Reviewed / Blogged

From Authors

Blog Tours

From Publishers

RRB (Read, Reviewed and Blogged) essentially means those book reviews are completed and I'm just waiting for their scheduled blog post date. That red 5 overdue isn't good.

No State Of The ARC would be complete without checking out the additions to my ARC stash: 12 new books this month, but I'm getting behind on my reading so this is a few too many!

Here are February's new arrivals
