A Month In Books - November 2019

Welcome to November's Month In Books roundup! I will link this post up with Nicole's Monthly Wrap-Up Round-Up at Feed Your Fiction Addiction.

A big thank you to Sarah at All The Book Blog Names Are Taken for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. It made my day! You can read my answers to Sarah's questions here.

Thirteen books read this month, all of them ARCs and review copies, and I completely forgot about it being Nonfiction November so I only posted three nonfiction book reviews for you - Frankie, Me And The Japanese Beauty Standards and Roaring Girls. They're all interesting in their own right though and Roaring Girls was very nearly my Book Of The Month.

Regular blog series:
In November I blogged Reading Challenge and Bookish Bingo, and State of the ARC updates as well as a Cover Characteristics collection featuring Women In White. My 5 Books, 1 Theme quintet explored What We Eat and WorldReads featured books from Singapore. I also continued my favourite Bookish Etsy Finds, posted a Giveaway Roundup, and looked back at nine years of what I read at This Time Last Year.

Now, on with this Reading Roundup!

My Book Of The Month for November is the wonderful Isolde by Irina Odoevtseva. This novel of young Russian emigres in Paris was originally published in 1929 and its new English translation is now available thanks to Pushkin Press.

I hope you have found some books to tempt you in this selection! You can keep up with my daily book posts on Literary Flits and don't forget all the Giveaways are listed in my Giveaway Linkup.

State Of The ARC - November 2019

I saw this State of the ARC meme over at Avalinah's Books blog in January 2018 and thought it would be fun to join in.

The idea is to keep track of all the ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) books I've got awaiting reading and reviewing, and to make headway through the overdue pile. For my State of the ARC, I am including all books sent to me for review whether they are pre-publication copies (as ARCs should be) or simply review copies of books already available publicly. I don't include books that I have purchased myself, book exchange swaps, or free downloads.

In November I blogged my reviews of these ARCs:

RRB (Read, Reviewed and Blogged) essentially means those book reviews are completed and I'm just waiting for their scheduled blog post date.

No State Of The ARC would be complete without checking out the additions to my ARC stash: only 8 this month!

Here are November's new arrivals
