A Month In Books - July 2019

Welcome to July's Month In Books roundup! I will link this post up with Nicole's Monthly Wrap-Up Round-Up at Feed Your Fiction Addiction.

This month I've made a few changes to my regular blogging practices which has restoked my enthusiasm so I'm especially happy about that. Starting to add a bookishly inspired Etsy Find to each of my Literary Flits book posts is fun and I'm loving wasting loads of time browsing that site for items from around the world. For example, for my Macbeth by Jo Nesbo book review, I found handmade Out Damned Spot soap made by The Mac Bath in Ohio!

Regular blog series:
In June I blogged Bookish Bingo and State of the ARC updates as well as a Cover Characteristics collection featuring Dogs. My 5 Books, 1 Theme quintet are all Road Trip novels to, maybe, inspire your summer holiday adventures. WorldReads featured books from Syria and I will be 'visiting' Portugal for August's WorldReads on the 5th. Unfortunately I haven't got around to reading my most recent Books From The Backlog yet so that's taken a back seat for a while.

Now, on with this Reading Roundup!

My Reviews

My Book Of The Month for July could have been The Murmur Of Bees by Sofia Segovia or Razia by Abda Khan, but after some deliberation I plumped for the first of my three five star reads this month: Pan's Labyrinth by Guillermo del Toro and Cornelia Funke

I hope you have found some books to tempt you in this selection! You can keep up with my daily book posts on Literary Flits and don't forget all the Giveaways are listed in my Giveaway Linkup.

State Of The ARC - July 2019

I saw this State of the ARC meme over at Avalinah's Books blog in January 2018 and thought it would be fun to join in.

The idea is to keep track of all the ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) books I've got awaiting reading and reviewing, and to make headway through the overdue pile. For my State of the ARC, I am including all books sent to me for review whether they are pre-publication copies (as ARCs should be) or simply review copies of books already available publicly. I don't include books that I have purchased myself, book exchange swaps, or free downloads.

In July I blogged my reviews of these ARCs:

Here's my State of the ARC numbers as of today:

Awaiting Reading

Read / Reviewed / Blogged

From Authors

1 R

Blog Tours

From Publishers

RRB (Read, Reviewed and Blogged) essentially means those book reviews are completed and I'm just waiting for their scheduled blog post date.

No State Of The ARC would be complete without checking out the additions to my ARC stash. I did get very carried away this month, oops! However the due dates are fairly well spread out - one's not even until next year!

Here are July's new arrivals

If you want to join this State of the ARC meme check out This Page at Avalinah's Books.
