5 Books 1 Theme - Dog Characters

December's themed collection is all about books which feature a dog as one of their characters. None of these are cute doggy tales though I'm afraid. One story takes place in a refugee camp, one is a bizarre alternate reality world, and one is ghostly crime fiction.

Have you read any of these five books? If so, what did you think? Can you recommend any other good books with dog characters?

  1. Most books with dogs that I have are horror and apocalypse! I always fear for the dogs in these books!

    1. There's a couple of these where the dogs don't come out of it too well either :-/

  2. Dogs are cute on covers most of the time.

  3. I love dogs but I rarely read about them. I've worked for vets and shelters and I tend to get too picky about the details lol and of course, can't read about them getting hurt.

    1. I don't like inaccurate details in books either. Poor research is one of my pet peeves

  4. I haven't read any of these, but I typically avoid books with dogs! I'm always WAY more upset when a pet/furry friend dies, haha. My emotional heart can't handle it! If there's a dog, I'm always wondering when something bad will happen.

    1. In that case, there's achapter of The Knife Of Never Letting Go that you're going to need to skip and it's probably best that you Do Not read Dead Is Better. They're both pretty graphic
