Book Blogger Hop - Do you check how many views your posts have received?

This week's question (19th - 25th April 2019) is:
Do you check how many views your posts have received? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)

I don't check my post view stats as much now as I used to when my blogs were newer, but I do still keep an eye on which posts are more popular than others. That applies more on this Stephanie Jane blog where I talk about all sorts of things. The weekly roundup posts and Books From The Backlog usually get the most views and I enjoy compiling these posts.

For Literary Flits, which presents reviews and spotlights of a different book every day, I read books I like the look of regardless of whether I think they will make for popular posts or not. I usually find my most popular book review posts are of mass market books that have lots of publicity so 'everyone' wants to read them. Sometimes one of these books will appeal to me, but I don't want to choose my reading based on the potential popularity of its eventual blog post! I love my niche indie and world reads too much.

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer's permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

  1. No I don't check. I'm never that bothered by the number of page views!

  2. I do check mostly to see what posts have the most views so I can see what readers are liking the most. I also check when I'm sending out emails to companies for a possible blog post and they like to know how many views you get each month.

    1. Exactly! Staring at the numbers all day never helps to increase them ;-)
