A Month In Books - January 2019

Welcome to January's Month In Books roundup!

I've decided these posts are getting a tad cluttered so my Reading Challenge updates will now roll into my Bookish Bingo posts - next one due this Monday.

January saw 20 book reviews posted on Literary Flits of which 3 were 'vintage' reviews and 17 of newly read books. I chose to read Farm Land: Sentience and All Things for their vegan characters as Veganuary motivation for me. This was fun and I'm still interested in finding more novels featuring vegetarians/vegans. If you happen to read one, please drop a link in the Comments!
Anyone specifically reading for the American Black History Month through February, might want to take a look at The History of Mary Prince, a West Indian Slave. Originally published in 1831, this is an understandably disturbing memoir and one that I believe should be widely read.

Regular blog series:
In January I blogged Bookish Bingo and State of the ARC updates as well as starting my version of Cover Characteristics posts.
January's WorldReads featured books from Argentina and I will be 'visiting' Northern Ireland for February's WorldReads on the 5th (this Tuesday!).

The Spotlight post giveaway winner was Witch's Moonstone Locket by Marsha A Moore, and congratulations to Ichabod who won its giveaway. (If you'd like the chance to win a Literary Flits Spotlight post for your book, add its link to This Linkup. One winner drawn each month!)

Now, on with this January Reading Roundup!

My Book Of The Month was a tricky decision this month. It could have been Spiral Of Silence by Elvira Sanchez-Blake or Farm Land: Sentience by Gemma Lawrence, but eventually I thought that Seeing Red by Lina Meruane just pipped them to the post.

I hope you have found some books to tempt you in this selection! You can keep up with my daily book posts on Literary Flits and don't forget all the Giveaways are listed in my Giveaway Linkup.
