2019 New Release Challenge sign-up

The 2019 New Release Challenge is a year-long challenge in which we aim to read books released in 2019.  Brandee and Lexxie at Unconventional Bookworms are the sole hosts of the challenge, and they both hope many of us will sign up and participate!  Michelle @ Limabean Designs created our beautiful logo!!

I've copied over the Challenge Rules below and it all looks pretty straightforward! I'm aiming for the New Release Pro level which is 31-60 books released and read within 2019, so three a month or more. I do read a lot more NetGalley books than this, but they're not always brand new releases and older books wouldn't count. I clarified for my beloved books in translation whether I should go by the original publication date or the translation date and the translation publishing date counts.

I know I already have a few eligible NetGalleys due in the early months of 2019:

"The rules for the 2019 New Release Challenge are simple:

Books have to be released and reviewed in 2019.
Other challenges can be used as well, if you are participating in the Netgalley / Edelweiss challenge or in the COYER challenge, books can count towards more than one challenge, as long as the ones you use for the 2019 New Release Reading Challenge qualify to the other rules.

The minimum length for a book to qualify is 100 pages, it can be in any format though, physical, e-book, ARC or audiobook.

The New Release Challenge is open from January 1st through December 31st 2019, and sign-ups are open until September 1st 2019.

You don’t have to be a blogger to participate, you can link to your review on Goodreads or Booklikes instead – so don’t be shy!

There are five levels  in the 2019 New Release Challenge:

31-60 books per year – New Release Pro
61-100 books per year – New Release Veteran
101-200 books per year – New Release Enthusiast
200+ books per year – New Release Obsessed"

    1. I mean, I'll be sure to have this challenge listed (I realized it sounded weird that I said I'd have "you" listed). ;-)

    2. I've got scheduled a blog post where I'm wrapping up all my 2018 challenges as I complete them, and listing the 2019 ones I want to do. Hopefully having all the new ones together will mean I don't get carried away on the sign-ups!

  6. This looks like it will be fun. I wish I knew about it last year. I'll have read about 27 new releases by the time 2018 finishes, and I already have 6 new releases on my 2019 list!
