A Month in Books - October 2018

Welcome to October's Month In Books roundup!

I read 15 books in October including two unusual graphic novels, a superb Jamaican magic realism tale, Chinese short stories and Japanese philosophical fantasy. I had three five-star reviews and I think my lowest rating was three stars so, overall, an excellent bookish month.

Regular blog series:
I blogged another five excellent female-authored books for ReadingWomen on the 10th with the Around The Blogosphere choice coming from Laurel Rain-Snow at Accidental Moments. I also blogged Bookish Bingo and State of the ARC updates.

October's WorldReads featured books from South Korea and I will be 'visiting' Jamaica for November's WorldReads on the 5th.

The Spotlight post giveaway winner was Zone 23 by C J Hopkins. (If you'd like the chance to win a Spotlight for your book, add its link to This Linkup. One winner drawn each month!)

Reading Challenges:
Alphabet Soup: none added, KXZ remaining.
Books In French: 1 finished
Classics Club: 1 added, 41 remaining
Decade Challenge: 2 added, 7 remaining. If you want to join me, there's more info and a sign-up here

  2. Lots of wonderful reading this month! The book about cats disappearing... that would be a very sad and dark time if that every happened.

  3. You did have a great reading month. I would love to read in another language. I've only read one book in another language, Tu mama es una llama? (Is Your Mama a Llama?), a children's book.
