50/50 Friday - Best/Worst Book From the First Half of the Year

50/50 Friday is hosted at The Butterfly Reader and at Blue Eye Books.

"What is 50/50 Friday?
Everyone has a favourite and then we also have something we dislike. Like a coin, there are two sides to every question. Example: best sequel you've read/worst sequel you've read. So that's what 50/50 Friday is all about. We will have a new topic every Friday (something bookish of course!). If you have have ideas for this meme don't be scared to let us know!"

This week's topic:
Best/Worst Book From the First Half of the Year

I gave 18 Five Star reviews in the first half of this year so choosing an absolute winner was tricky. My Top Three are:

Uprooted by Naomi Novik
Threadwalkers by Joanna Volavka
Territory Of Light by Yuko Tsushima

and I think Territory Of Light just pips the others to the post!

Worst book is easy to narrow down as it is my only DNF:

Someone To Talk To by Liu Zhenyun

  1. I read Spinning Silver which was my first experience with Naomi Novik's work. I think I'm in love haha Uprooted is next on my list! Also, how gorgeous are the covers?!?
