Top Five Etsy Finds - Caravan Christmas

Caravan Christmas Decorations by BritanniaCards
We're now only twelve sleeps away from our fourth Christmas Day in our caravan and I must admit I do love escaping from the frantic commercialism that sweeps Britain from September onwards every year. Somehow seasonal preparations appear more relaxed on mainland Europe. There are still decorations, special foods and celebratory events, but the emphasis is more on how people spend the holiday time than on who spends most on presents! Even official festive town displays here in France frequently include handmade decorations alongside the lights and garlanded trees. In Couiza this year I saw brightly painted upcycled oil barrels which were great fun. Etsy's handmade artisan ethos fits in perfectly and for my December Etsy Finds post, I have chosen five items to appeal to caravanners this Christmas.

My first choice (pictured above) is a trio of Caravan Christmas Decorations made by BritanniaCards in Blackpool. They are created from black, red and white felt embellished with ribbons and buttons. I especially love the tiny gold tinsel wreaths over each door! BritanniaCards also have fun multicoloured Caravan Bunting.

The Caravan Christmas Decorations are for sale at £7.50 plus shipping for three.

Merry And Bright Tea Towel by CocoandMoon
The tea towel pictured here, entitled Merry And Bright, is the work of American interior designer Allie Corley at CocoandMoon who now lives somewhere in England. She has appliqued a fun tartan caravan motif onto a traditional waffle tea towel and completed the scene with a festive lights garland and a decorated tree strapped to the caravan roof. I like the matching tartan curtains and door blind. I am not sure I could bring myself to actually use this as a tea towel but it would look fab hanging over our oven door bar!

The Merry And Bright Tea Towel is for sale at £15 plus shipping.

Winter Holiday by cbaroneart
cbaroneart is the Etsy shop of mixed media artist Claire Barone from Buxton. She creates beautiful naive art pictures which are sold as originals or as prints and appeal to collectors all over the world. Claire has painted for twenty-five years. I loved the whimsical details in this painting entitled Winter Holiday. I can identify with the caravanners apparently wearing all the clothes they took in order to stay warm and isn't the little dog on a sled adorable? Christmas trees and fairy lights add to the holiday atmosphere and that looks like a peaceful and isolated spot. Winter Holiday is embellished with fabric and glitter and has been varnished to ensure longevity. The work measures 16 inches square.

The original of Winter Holiday is for sale at £75 plus shipping.

Home For Christmas by SisterSisterGifts
A ceramic heart is my second choice of caravan themed Christmas decoration for this post. Home For Christmas was hand painted by Sarah of SisterSistergifts - a partnership between Sarah and Catherine who are based in Llangollen, Wales. This design is one of their new seasonal ideas and was probably inspired by Sarah's own caravan which she keeps in beautiful Pembrokeshire. The heart measures about 4.5 inches across and hangs from a simple white organza ribbon. A Christmas tree lies on the caravan roof again and this item would make a cute little gift as well as a treat for oneself.

Home For Christmas is for sale at £9.95 plus shipping.

Swell Noel Christmas Cars by Petestreasuretrove
My fifth and final find for this month is a great seasonal fabric sold by Petestreasuretrove in Market Rasen. I love this design of campervans,  trucks, caravans and cars, all driven by folks who just happen to have bought their Christmas trees on the same day. The fabric is a Robert Kaufmann design entitled Swell Noel Christmas Cars and Pete is selling it in fat quarters although, if you want a larger piece, you can combine fat quarters up to 43 inches wide. That's well over a tablecloth's worth in a caravan!

One fat quarter of Swell Noel Christmas Cars is for sale at £4.40 plus shipping.

Merry Christmas!
